CD drive on Rivo keeps spinning fast

client attached a LG GP60 CD drive to the USB port next to the Ethernet port. CDs are played correctly, but the drive keeps generating a lot of noise (clicks at the beginning of a new track, creates noise spins up and down continuously).

The issue is definitely not with the LG DVD drive. The drive works silently with my Melco N1A streamer. I see exactly the same behaviour with an LG GP57 drive. It is also noisy with Rivo and silent on the Melco. The Motivo shows the same issue as the Rivo with both drives.

Several threads on the Volumio forum indicate that others are seeing the same issue. [Volumio running CD drive at noisy high speed - MyVolumio / MyVolumio Help and Support - Volumio Community|https://community.volumio.com/t/volumio-running-cd-drive-at-noisy-high-speed/54246]

The issue is how Volumio controls the DVD player. There are ways to control a generic USB DVD drive so it only spins up to 1x speed and then turns constantly (and silently). It is the code of the driver that needs to be fixed. Otherwise, better to eliminate the CD reading function. It is not useable in this form.

Some suggestion of what to look at
